Unravelling Freedoms is a creative workshop developed by Efata, Ateliers Nomades for the Olhares do Mediterrâneo – Women’s Film Festival involving guest Arianna Bavuso from AB+AC Architects.
It revolves around inner struggles, especially in the parts of the world such as the middle east and Lebanon in particular, which are often overshadowed by broad collective challenges and harsh social realities. During the workshop, the participants were invited to reflect on invisible yet persistent boundaries that eventually determine our ways of thinking, feeling or being. They attempted to map out inner and/or self-imposed confines, often entangled with external pressures. Within this, light was shed on the role of our everyday (domestic) spaces and how their attributes can be an agent of control vs. tools for a new-found freedom. By naming these constraints, then pondering on words and their visual counterpart, the participants explored other perceptions of what limits our freedom, through the practice of art, and overcome them, eventually.
Thalassa!
O atelier foi viabilizado pela Associação Cultural Luso-Grega “Parafonia” !
